Blood Omen
Blood Omen was the inaugural chapter of the saga, although it was initially released as an independient game. Its conception goes back to 1993 when Denis Dyack, president of Silicon Knights, conceived the history of Kain as a mature storyline game, with a strong and complicated plot.
Silicon Knights could to convince Crystal Dynamics to realized the vision of Kain and for almost one year its development took place without have in mind any specific hardware platform… until the Sony PlayStation was announced.
Finally in 1996 Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain was released and it could be seen a retailed argumental history, an good graphics and motion, a detailed level in the stages and an amazing voice acting never seen before.
In Blood Omen, the player controls Kain, a man who is murdered and later resurrected as vampire by grace of Mortanius the necromancer. This one will guide Kain through his quest for vengeance where he will discover his true destiny: to be the architect of the Nosgoth restoration. For that he will have to kill the members of the Circle of Nine, an oligarchy of sorceres who controls Nosgoth. However, his travel will be full up of revelations and unexpected twists.
