At Christmas 2003/2004, Eidos Interactive published the last episode of the saga until today. Crystal Dynamics became in controllable characters the two protagonists of the last episodes.

Defiance continues the history revealed in Soul Reaver 2 and at same time explains some of the Blood Omen 2 events. Kain starts the quest for Raziel after he disappeared at the Sarafan stronghold. Kain needs Raziel to complete his destiny as Scion of Balance.

In turn, Raziel tries to escape from the underworld and the claws of the elder god looking for a way to get out his terrible destiny: become the voracious entity prisoner of the Soul Reaver. In his travel, Raziel will learn more about himself and about a possibly new destiny that will take him to face up Kain.
